Blog #10

Internship time: 0 hrs
Blog time: 30 mins
Research/final product time: 2.5 hours
TOTAL: 3 hours

Because I do not go in for my internship until tomorrow, it gave me part of today to research things I need to know for my final product, as well as learn about certain ingredients that I will be using and trying out for my "beauty on a budget" DIY book. I read some blogs like "Accidentally Jetset", "lovelaurenelizabeth" and more to get inspiration from their blogs and see what skincare and beauty products they are using and loving currently. It's really important for me to stay up to date on what influencers and beauty gurus are using so that I can stay in the loop and in the know of what's new so I can know what to give a shot. As we know, skin is the largest organ on our bodies so taking care of it and nourishing it is really important yet still overlooked by the majority of people. Today I learned about aloe and its healing properties, calendula and how it can help soothe dry skin, coconut oil, and its moisturizing benefits, oatmeal for its anti-itch properties, rosemary for its antiseptic benefits, and yarrow and honey to help speed up the healing process for wounds and make it hurt less. As I learn about these ingredients, I am writing them down in my 'senior project' notebook so later on in the week I can pick up some of these ingredients to start playing with and testing out. I will be sampling and trying sooooo many different recipes so it will be nice to refer to my notebook when creating concoctions. Today was really awesome and productive because I got to research specific ingredients, and I got to hear other women's perspectives on skincare and beauty products and see what they have been loving so I can get inspiration to write about what I'm loving. Super excited for internship day 1 tomorrow!
