For innovative and ambitious people, the beauty and wellness industry is a great place to be and pursue in a career in because it is really taking off and turning into something big because self-care and wellness are very trendy and on the upswing right now. It is an industry that requires creative and qualified employees and offers many opportunities to grow as a business leader and entrepreneur - especially as a woman. Not only do you need artistic abilities, you also need the skill of connecting and communicating effectively with your clients in order to make them feel confident, beautiful and empowered with their new look that you as a makeup artist created for them. There are many paths one can choose to go down in the beauty/wellness industry including the entertainment industry, freelance work, special FX, Broadway, high fashion, photo shoots, or creating your own brand or spa.
Beauty and wellness are “about making healthy lifestyle choices and maintaining one’s well-being both physically and mentally” which is very appealing to many people because if they can take care of themselves then they are able to do well in other aspects of life and business. The industry of wellness is booming right now, in fact “ in 2013, the market size of the global wellness industry amounted to more than 3.4 trillion U.S. dollars” because many people see the lifestyle of wellness as an alternative to medicine. There are so many paths one can take in the beauty and wellness industry and many opportunities as well just because of its popularity right now.
